Product Overview

Processless CTP plates, also known as chemistry-free CTP plates, have revolutionized the plate-making process in the printing industry by offering significant advantages over traditional plates. These plates eliminate the need for multiple processing steps such as development, rinsing, and gumming, resulting in improved efficiency, cost savings, and environmental benefits.

Processless CTP plates consist of an aluminum base coated with a light-sensitive layer containing a mixture of photopolymers and other materials that react to laser energy during imaging. When exposed to laser, the light-sensitive layer undergoes a chemical change, making exposed areas hydrophilic (water-attracting) while leaving unexposed areas hydrophobic (water-repellent).

The imaging process utilizes laser diode or LED exposure systems that selectively expose the light-sensitive layer, directly creating the desired image. Once imaging is complete, the plate is ready for direct mounting onto the printing press without additional processing steps.

By eliminating processing chemicals and reducing steps, processless CTP plates offer increased efficiency and cost savings. The elimination of chemical processing is environmentally friendly, reducing water consumption and eliminating chemical discharge for a more sustainable printing process.
